NEWCASTLE UNITED have rejected an improved offer from Bayern Munich for Kieran Trippier.
Bayern had an initial loan approach for the full-back rejected over the weekend, but made renewed contact with Newcastle officials earlier today.
Their second offer was for a permanent deal, and is understood to have involved a fee in the region of £13m, which is broadly the figure Newcastle paid to sign Trippier from Atletico Madrid in January 2022.
The bid was rejected though, with the Newcastle hierarchy adamant they do not want to lose Trippier this month.

While Darren Eales and Eddie Howe have admitted the Magpies will have to sell to buy at some stage because of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations, they are determined to hold on to both Trippier and Callum Wilson, who is the subject of ongoing interest from Atletico Madrid, in the January window.
Trippier turned 33 in September, and is in the final 18 months of his contract at St James' Park, but Howe continues to regard him as an extremely important member of his first-team squad.
