7 Glover: Fortunate in the first half when he raced off his line and Koroma hit the bar but made one fine save to deny forward in first half and a couple of crucial stops after the break.
6 Dijksteel: Solid enough defensively, wasn’t really able to get forward in first half. Replaced just after the break after picking up a niggle.
8 Van den Berg: Impressive return to the side. Didn't shy away from the physical battle and was composed in possession.
6 Fry: Not as comfortable as van den Berg. His attempted clearance fell at the feet of Helik for Huddersfield equaliser.
6 Bangura: Thomas caused problems when he drifted to the right. Did OK defensively, got forward when he could. Booked for diving.
7 Howson: Big players come up with big moments and that’s exactly what Howson did with late winner, just seconds after having penalty superbly saved.
6 Barlaser: Tidy in the first half but often lacked something to aim for in attack. Had to show the other side of his game in the second half as Boro dug deep in filthy conditions.
6 Jones: Dreadful miss in the first half and struggled to get into the game going forward before the break but showed his character and versatility to recover and drop into defence in the second half. Made a couple of crucial interceptions.
6 Rogers: Tough to mark because for the most part, especially in the first half, he was poor. But his sublime through-ball set up the opener and he won late penalty.
5 Greenwood: A passenger for the most part, couldn’t get into the game, replaced 20 minutes into the second half.
5 Silvera: Couple of first half flashes but otherwise quiet.
Substitutes:
8 Coburn (for Dijksteel, 48): Gave Boro another dimension in attack. Led the line well, brilliant finish for his goal.
7 Clarke (for Greenwood, 65): Slotted in well in defence. Change of shape helped Boro regain control.
McGree (for Silvera, 78): N/A
Engel (for Bangura, 78): N/A
Subs not used: Jones,, Gilbert, Coulson, Kavanagh, Bridge
HUDDERSFIELD: Chapman 7, Kasumu 6, Lees 7, Helik 7, Nakayama 7 (Hudlin, 87), Headley 6; Hogg 6 (Edmonds-Green, 38), Wiles 6, Rudoni 6; Koroma 7, Thomas 7
Subs not used: Bellagambi, Diarra, Auserfield, Ayina, Iorpenda, Stone, Falls
Man of the Match: Coburn. Wasted no time in showing what Boro had been missing in the first half. Timely reminder of what he offers ahead of January transfer window, when Boro will target a striker. The sooner Coburn is back to full fitness, the better.
