How did the players fare in Newcastle United's 4-1 defeat at Tottenham?

TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1):

Vicario 6; Porro 7, Romero 6, Davies 7, Udogie 7; Bissouma 6 (Gil 86), Sarr 6 (Hojbjerg 73); Johnson 7 (Skipp 86), Kulusevski 6, SON 9 (Donley 90), Richarlison 8 (Lo Celso 73).

Subs (not used): Forster (gk), Royal, Veliz, Dorrington.

NEWCASTLE (4-3-3):

4 Dubravka: Sold himself far too easily as he brought Son crashing to the floor for Spurs’ penalty

3 Trippier: Another day to forget for the full-back, who was beaten far too easily for the opening two goals

Schar: Just about the pick of Newcastle’s defenders, although that wasn’t saying a lot

4 Lascelles: Never got to grips with the Spurs attack and was bypassed by the long ball for the third goal

4 Livramento: Had his toughest game since switching across to left-back – couldn’t contain Spurs’ right-sided attackers

4 Miley: Is starting to look like an inexperienced teenager who has been thrust into the side to plug a gap

4 Guimaraes: As was the case at Everton, he couldn’t get to grips with the midfield battle or get his attacking game going

5 JOELINTON: Stuck at his task and was rewarded when he swept home Newcastle’s late consolation

4 Almiron: Missed a great opportunity when he shot tamely at Vicario and gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasions

4 Isak: Couldn’t convert Gordon’s first-half cross and struggled to get involved in the game for long periods

4 Gordon: Failed to really make an impact on the game – should perhaps have shot instead of crossing in the first half

Subs:

4 Longstaff (for Almiron, 64): Looked short of sharpness, but at least he is back on the field

5 Wilson (for Isak, 64): Made a positive impact as he set up Newcastle’s late goal

Hall (for Livramento, 74)

Ritchie (for Gordon, 74)

Krafth (for Trippier, 86)

(not used): Karius (gk), Gillespie (gk), Dummett, A Murphy.

Man Of The Match: SON HEUNG-MIN – The Spurs forward ended the afternoon with a goal and two assists.
