A DATE has been set for next month’s much-anticipated Wear-Tyne derby in the FA Cup – with the game unsurprisingly selected for TV coverage.
The FA Cup third round tie between Sunderland and Newcastle will take place on Saturday, January 6, kicking off at 12.45pm.
Ticket details or Newcastle’s away allocation have not yet been confirmed.

The game is one of six ties selected for TV coverage and will be live on ITV.
Middlesbrough’s third round tie against Aston Villa will also be live, with the game at the Riverside to be shown on BBC One, kicking off at 5.30pm on Saturday, January 6.
Crystal Palace vs Everton, Tottenham vs Burnley, Arsenal vs Liverpool and Wigan vs Manchester United have also been selected for live TV coverage.
