MICHAEL Carrick insists he has no concerns about his team selection for Ipswich Town next week, despite two suspensions and another injury blow to add to an already significant list of issues.

Isaiah Jones will be suspended next Saturday after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-2 defeat to Leeds, while Anfernee Dijksteel is also now ruled out after his second half sending off.

And Paddy McNair is the latest Boro player to pick up an injury, with the defender forced off in the first half at Leeds with a back problem.

Dael Fry and Hayden Hackney were again missing at Elland Road and Carrick admitted the pair "weren't too close" to getting the green light for the game, raising real concerns the key duo will again be missing next week.

On top of those issues, Boro are also without Tommy Smith, Darragh Lenihan, Riley McGree and Marcus Forss - and yet Carrick won't panic.

"We'll be good, we'll be good," he said.

"Whatever team goes out there we'll look forward to it. It's part of football. Yeah, there's injuries, we want everyone back, of course we do. But that's life. We'll have a good week's training and attack the game next Saturday."

It's obviously too early to determine the severity of McNair's injury, but on Fry and Hackney, Carrick said: "They weren't too close to be fair.

"We'll have to see how they go during the week. We were hoping they'd be back but in the end it wasn't possible.

"It's about getting the right balance between pushing and taking a risk for one or two games or looking at the bigger picture and this game and next week's game.

"It's not the season so you don't want to lose players for a stretch because you forced them back for one game. You have to be clever and smart."

Carrick was hoping Jones was going to avoid a fifth yellow of the season ahead of the suspension cut-off - which was after today's game - but the winger was carded for a foul in the second half. Dijksteel received his second yellow card of the afternoon soon after for a foul on Dan James.

On the red card, Carrick said: "I haven't seen it. It is what it is. There were a lot of fouls in the game and I could sit here and say a lot has gone against us but it's not going to get me anywhere."
