6 Patterson: Excellent early save to deny Koroma. Busier than he’ll have expected against a poor team. Wasn’t helped by defence for goals.
6 Seelt: Caught out early on for Headley chance but recovered. Made his presence felt in opposition box. Assisted equaliser with nod-down and should have scored just after the break.
5 Ballard: Sunderland’s defence looked vulnerable on the counter in the early stages. Ballard was well short of his commanding best.
6 O’Nien: On more than one occasion tried to drive forward from defence and spark Sunderland into life in the first half. Scored the equaliser.
5 Hume: Was caught out on a few occasions early on. Didn’t have much to do defensively after the break. Did at least try to inject some life into Sunderland after the break and went close with shot from distance.
5 Neil: Not as effective playing alone in deeper role. Couldn't get a grip on the game as he'd have liked.
5 Roberts: His free-kick led to the equaliser but otherwise couldn’t find killer pass.
5 Aouchiche: Flashes of the playmaker’s quality but, like his fellow forwards, was frustrated by the visitors.
5 Bellingham: Glorious chance on the hour mark when he was denied by Maxwell. Sloppy in possession.
5 Clarke: Didn’t happen for Clarke on the left. Plenty of crosses cut out. Late penalty shout for handball when shot was blocked.
5 Mayenda: Lively but struggled to make an impact. Nothing landed for him in the box.
