7 Pope: Crucial save to deny Fernandez shortly after Chelsea’s equaliser, was fortunate not to be punished by Gallagher after rare mistake.
8 Trippier: Set-piece threat throughout. Furious with award of free-kick that led to Chelsea equaliser but showed his leadership skills to respond in the manner he did.
8 Lascelles: Like Trippier, responded in the best possible fashion to first half mistake. Thumping header got Newcastle back in front.
7 Schar: Solid showing. Kept Jackson and Chelsea runners quiet for the most part.
8 Livramento: Bit of an uncertain start but got better as the game went on. Chelsea dangerman Palmer didn’t really get a kick.
8 Bruno: Showed why he was so sorely missed at Bournemouth. Bossed it.
9 Miley: Hard to believe the midfielder is just 17. Calm, composed and confident throughout. His brilliant through-ball teed up Isak for opener. A young player with a huge future.
8 Joelinton: Missed glorious first half chance but made amends with second half goal. All-action throughout.
8 Almiron: Set the tone for Newcastle with his energy. Buzzed about non-stop and linked up well with Trippier, as is always the case.
9 Gordon: Another excellent showing and the perfect response to his latest England snub. Deserved his late goal.
8 Isak: Timely boost to have Isak back and the striker wasted no time in making an impact. Calm finish for opening goal, led the line well.
