Middlesbrough had to settle for a point in a six-goal thriller against Plymouth. Here's how the players rated:
6 Dieng: Good early save to deny Mumba.. Couldn’t do much about Plymouth’s first two goals and third goal so tricky for keeper to judge in those conditions.
5 Van den Berg: Sucked inside for first goal and struggled with Mumba, but wasn’t helped by Jones in first half.
6 Fry: Shaky start but recovered. Stood tall late on when Plymouth slung some crosses into the box.
6 McNair: Composed in possession and solid against tricky forward line.
6 Engel: Was good match against Whittaker down the right side in the first half. Assist for first goal.
6 Howson: Did the ugly stuff well and helped Boro win back control after break before second equaliser.
7 Hackney: Driving force in second half before Plymouth equaliser.
6 Jones: Sloppy in the first half and wasted counter attack opportunity. Van den Berg needed more support. Improved after the break, had a hand in Greenwood goal and was denied goal when he was fouled late on.
7 Crooks: Key to Boro’s second half improvement. Knitted things together. Created Greenwood’s goal.
7 Greenwood: Engel needed more support in first half but Greenwood came to life after the break. Won the penalty and scored third goal.
8 Coburn: Led the line well against the side he nearly joined in the summer. Made his presence felt and scored a double.
