Sunderland got back to winning ways in the Championship with a 3-1 victory over Norwich City. Here's how the players rated:
7 Patterson: Alert to early danger when he raced off his line to clear through ball. Looked to have got a glove on Fassnacht header that hit the post.
8 Hume: Did a good job on Rowe defensively and joined in with the attack at every opportunity. First goal of the season came at crucial time after Norwich’s opener. Excellent.
7 O’Nien: Alongside Ballard, comfortable.
7 Ballard: Controlled throughout. Quiet for the most part but stepped up when Norwich briefly threatened in second half.
6 Huggins: Linked up well with Clarke in first half. Tired as the game went on and troubled by substitute Hernandez before he was replaced.
8 Neil: Took his goal superbly well. All action display, particularly in the first half.
6 Ekwah: Mistake led to Norwich's opening goal. Other than that, composed in possession and went close with low strike. Crucial block in his own box in the second period.
7 Roberts: Lively in the first half especially. Teed up Hume for crucial leveller.
6 Bellingham: Linked up well with Clarke early in first half but faded.
9 Clarke: Had Norwich on the back foot from the off. So unlucky when he hit the post, brilliantly teed up Neil goal and the won and slotted home penalty.
6 Rusyn: Worked hard on his debut. Clever movement and some nice touches. Game should do him good.
