Sunderland return to action on Tuesday when they take on Leicester City in the Championship.

Here are all the details you need to know about Tuesday’s game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having lost out at Stoke City’s bet365 Stadium at the weekend, Sunderland are back on the road as they head to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester.

The game marks the Black Cats’ visit to the King Power since April 2017, when they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the Premier League.

Sunderland have not won on their last three visits to Leicester, but prior to that, their previous two away games against the Foxes had resulted in victories, the most recent of which saw the Wearsiders triumph 2-0 on New Year’s Day in 2007 thanks to goals from Tobias Hysen and David Connolly.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Tuesday’s game kicks off at 8pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – Sunderland have sold their entire allocation of away tickets for Tuesday night’s game.

Despite the difficulty of midweek travel, Tony Mowbray’s side will be roared on by a travelling contingent of more than 3,250 fans at the King Power.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Yes – Tuesday’s game is being broadcast live by Sky, and will be available on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels.

With the game being broadcast live, there will be no domestic streaming available.

Radio coverage of Wednesday’s game will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle, and The Northern Echo’s Chief Sports Writer, Scott Wilson, will be at the King Power producing a live blog, report, ratings, analysis and reaction on The Northern Echo’s website.

WHAT IS SUNDERLAND’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Dan Neil returns from suspension after missing the weekend defeat to Stoke, and is expected to return to the heart of Sunderland’s midfield.

Tony Mowbray has admitted that “four or five” players are suffering from knocks sustained in Saturday’s game in the Potteries though, and a number are set to face pre-match fitness tests to ascertain their state of wellbeing.

Dan Ballard is one of the players who is a doubt, with the Northern Irishman having suffered a muscular problem while on international duty last week. Ballard played against Stoke, but was complaining of pain after the game.

Mowbray went without a recognised centre-forward at the weekend, but having been a second-half substitute against Stoke, Mason Burstow is expected to return to the starting side.

Dennis Cirkin played for 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors Under-21s game against Hibernian on Monday afternoon, and is set to be back on the bench at Leicester.

Sunderland (probable, 4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Ballard, Huggins; Neil, Ekwah; Ba, Bellingham, Clarke; Burstow.

HOW ARE LEICESTER SHAPING UP?

Leicester’s start to the season could hardly have gone any better, with the Foxes currently five points clear at the top of the Championship table.

Enzo Maresca’s new-look side have won 11 of their 12 league matches so far this season – the only blemish on their record was a 1-0 defeat to Hull at the start of September – and were in fine form at the weekend as they won 3-1 at Swansea.

Yunus Akgun is a doubt after limping off during the latter stages of the Swansea win with a leg injury, while Kasey McAteer, Callum Doyle, Thomas Cannon and Dennis Praet are all long-term absentees.

Jamie Vardy started at the weekend, but the quick turnaround means he could be replaced in the starting side by Kelechi Iheanacho, who came off the bench to score Leicester’s third goal at the Liberty Stadium.

Leicester (probable, 4-3-3): Hermansen; Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Ndidi, Winks, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Iheanacho, Mavididi.
