FORMER Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is heading to Turkey in an attempt to kick-start his career.
Shelvey is set to move from Nottingham Forest to Turkish Super Lig side Rizespor on a season-long loan.
The 31-year-old left Newcastle in January, signing a two-and-a-half year contract at the City Ground.
However, his time as a Nottingham Forest has hardly gone to plan as he has made just eight senior appearances in the east Midlands.
Shelvey did not even make the 20-man squad for Forest's most recent Premier League game - a 1-0 win at Chelsea - with boss Steve Cooper not regarding the midfielder as part of his plans.

As a result, Shelvey is set to partner his Forest team-mate, Emmanuel Dennis, on a loan move to Rizespor as he looks to get his career back on track.
Rizespor, who are based in Rize, a coastal city in North-Eastern Turkey, are currently fifth in the Turkish top-flight, having picked up seven points from their opening four games of the season.
