ISAAC Hayden's next step is unclear after the Newcastle United midfielder's switch to Luton Town collapsed.
Hayden isn't part of Eddie Howe's first team plans at Newcastle, is training with the club's Under-21s and is available to leave ahead of Friday's deadline.
The 28-year-old looked set to join Premier League newcomers Luton on loan but the deal fell through.
“We couldn’t quite agree a deal unfortunately," said Luton boss Rob Edwards.
"He’s someone we had a look at, clearly, there was interest.
"He’s a good player but unfortunately we couldn’t quite agree a deal. We can have a look and see what else we can do in the next couple of days."

Hayden, whose last Newcastle appearance was in December 2021 and who spent last season on loan at Norwich City in the Championship, has been linked with a number of second tier clubs, including Millwall, QPR and West Brom.
Middlesbrough were also linked, but it's understood Boro aren't interested in signing the former Arsenal man.
Meanwhile, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are said to have enquired about the availability of defender Matt Targett, but Newcastle rejected the advances.
Targett is behind Dan Burn in the pecking order at left-back, an area that was last week strengthened with the capture of Lewis Hall from Chelsea.
