Emmanuel Latte Lath has become Middlesbrough’s latest signing after moving to Teesside from Italian club Atalanta.
The 24-year-old, who arrives in a deal that is reportedly worth around €5m has signed a four-year contract, with Boro having the option of a further year as part of the deal.

* Latte Lath was born in Marcory, in the Ivory Coast, and his exploits as a youth player attracted the attention of scouts from across continental Europe.
* He was offered youth terms with Italian side Atlanta, and make his mark in the Serie A side’s Under-17s line-up, scoring 20 goals in 25 matches in the Campionato Nazionale in the 2015-16 season as Atalanta secured the national title.

* Latte Lath was a regular for Atalanta in the Primavera Under-19s competition in the 2016-17 campaign, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances as his side once again topped the table.
* His youth performances earned him a call-up to the senior Atalanta squad, and he was handed his first-team debut as a substitute in a Coppa Italia tie against Cremonese. He made two more appearances in the latter rounds of the competition, scoring his first senior goal in a 3-2 defeat to Juventus.
* Latte Lath has spent most of the last five years playing in the Italian lower leagues during a series of loan moves. He made a combined total of 35 senior appearances for Pistoiese and Carrarese in Serie C, before making a further 24 appearances in the same division for Idolise and Pianese. He spent the whole of the 2020-21 season in the Italian third tier with Pro Patria, scoring 11 goals in 36 games.
* The striker’s most successful loan in Italy came in the 2021-22 season when he helped Serie B side SPAL avoid relegation. His injury-time equaliser in a late-season game against Brescia was a key moment in SPAL’s successful survival.
* Latte Lath spent last season playing in the Swiss top-flight with St Gallen. He scored 16 goals in his 34 senior appearances in Switzerland, and also claimed four assists.
