MIDDLESBROUGH will take on Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup second round.
Boro will head to Bolton's Toughsheet Community Stadium as the reward for last night's first-round victory at Huddersfield.
Bolton have had a strong start to the season, winning their opening League One game at home to Lincoln City before triumphing over Barrow in the League Cup first round.
The match is a repeat of the 2004 Carling Cup final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, which saw Boro triumph 2-1 to lift their only major trophy.
The two sides' most recent meeting came in April 2019, with a first-half double from Ashley Fletcher securing Boro a 2-0 win in Lancashire.
The second-round matches will be staged in the week beginning August 28.
