MIDDLESBROUGH are set for another transfer boost, with Manchester City forward Morgan Rogers closing in on a move to the Riverside.
Boro are close to finalising a permanent deal for the 20-year-old England youth international, who spent last season on loan at Blackpool.
Rogers, who is moving into the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad, has previously had spells on loan with Lincoln and Bournemouth.
Rogers was something of a youth sensation as he developed through the ranks at West Brom, with Manchester City signing him for £4m when he was just 17.
Former Blackpool boss Michael Appleton had Rogers at Lincoln and after linking up with the forward again last season, said: "The quality that he’s got will be there for everybody to see. He’s got a physical presence, he scores goals and he gets assists."
It's yet another boost in the transfer market for Boro, who signed Alex Gilbert from Brentford earlier this week and are close to finalising deals for Rav van den Berg, Sammy Silvera and Tom Glover.

There could, however, be an imminent exit with Marc Bola understood to be in talks with Samsunspor.
Having won promotion last season, Samsunspor are preparing for life in the Turkish Super Lig and identified Bola as a target.
The former Arsenal and Blackpool defender has just 12 months to run on his deal at the Riverside. He made just nine league starts last season.
