FORMER Middlesbrough midfielder Harry Chapman has been charged with misconduct over an alleged breach of FA betting rules.
The alleged offence is claimed to have taken place while Chapman was still a Middlesbrough player, although not at a time when he was actually playing for the club.
The Hartlepool-born 25-year-old is alleged to have breached FA regulations in 2017, when he was playing on loan at Blackburn Rovers from Boro.
He later joined Blackburn on a permanent basis, and is currently plying his trade in League Two with Bradford City.
The FA have said that Chapman, who signed for the Bantams after leaving Ewood Park at the end of last season, is alleged to have breached FA Rule E8 (1) (b) while at Rovers.

Chapman, who spent his formative footballing years in Middlesbrough's academy and whose four senior appearances for the club came in the FA Cup and League Cup, has until July 6 to respond to the charge.
Bradford said in a statement on their website that the charge dated back to 2017, and added: “Harry Chapman has the full support of everyone at Bradford, and will continue to train with his team-mates as normal throughout pre-season until further notice.
“The club will be making no further comment on the matter at this time.”
Brentford striker Ivan Toney was banned for eight months in May after he admitted 232 breaches of the FA’s betting regulations.
