EX-Middlesbrough loanee Zack Steffen has emerged as a summer target for Leicester City, with new boss Enzo Maresca keen on a reunion with the Manchester City keeper.
After helping City to their treble last season as part of Pep Guardiola's coaching team, Maresca left to take charge at Leicester and is keen on making the most of his strong contacts at the Etihad.
City won't stand in Steffen's way this summer and the USA international has made it clear he wants to move to play regularly after his year on loan with Boro.
While Steffen, who had knee surgery at the start of the summer, is extremely well thought of by Boro boss Michael Carrick, a Riverside return was always unlikely for the 28-year-old, mainly because of what he earns with Manchester City, believed to be in the region of around £70,000 a week.

Promotion favourites Leicester look set to be preparing for a bold summer in the transfer market as they look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League. Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks is a target for the Foxes, as is Wolves and England defender Conor Coady.
Adding a new senior goalkeeper is a priority for Boro this summer, with Newcastle United's Karl Darlow a leading target. Hull City want Darlow after he impressed on loan with the Tigers in the second half of the season, while Blackburn are also interested, but Boro are in a strong position to land the 32-year-old.
