MIDDLESBROUGH have once again put their capital contacts, scouting know-how and extensive knowledge of the London youth football scene to good use, with another young signing to bolster their academy ranks.
Leyton Orient forward Daniel Nkrumah is joining Boro from Leyton Orient, signing a two-year contract with the option of a further year.
The 19-year-old, who will join for an undisclosed fee on July 1, will initially join up with the academy.
Nkrumah has made seven senior appearances for Orient, including three in League Two, and last season spent time in National League South on loan at Welling United, where he scored two goals in 10 outings.
He's the latest in a growing list of young players spotted in London and brought to Teesside, with Boro's head of academy recruitment Martin Carter having built up strong links with a host of clubs and coaches in the capital.
Djed Spence, Isaiah Jones, Pharrell Willis and Bryan Bilongo were all spotted in London, as was former Charlton youngster Terrell Agyemang, who is joining Boro from Manchester City this summer.

Previously, Carter told The Athletic: "London is a hotbed of young players
“There’s such a population in London that the super-clubs can rule boys out. We’re trying to rule them in.
“They’re going for boys at this level — high — and we’re going for those at this level — medium. Realistically, we aren’t getting the highest level but we’re looking for a boy who can get to that level. That’s what scouting is.”
Nkrumah took to Twitter after his signing was confirmed, saying: "Delighted to announce I have signed for Boro.
"I want thank God because this is a product of His mercy. Excited to take this new step in my career. Time to work!"
