MIDDLESBROUGH have announced their first two pre-season friendlies, with trips to Hartlepool United and York City scheduled for next month.
The two games will take place on consecutive days, with Boro visiting Hartlepool’s Suit Direct Stadium on Friday, July 14 (7pm) before heading to York’s LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, July 15 (1pm).
Michael Carrick is expected to split his first-team squad between the two games, ensuring all of his players get the maximum possible game time to begin their pre-season campaign.
Boro have been regular visitors to both Hartlepool and York in recent seasons, beating Pools 5-0 and 4-0 in 2018 and 2019 and claiming a 3-2 victory over York last July.
Further pre-season games will be announced soon, with Boro expected to play all of their summer matches in the UK. Carrick is set to take his squad to Portugal for a training camp, but at this stage, the Teessiders are not expected to play any matches as part of that trip.
