8 Patterson: Important saves, commanded his box, calm with the ball at his feet.
8 Gooch: Wore the armband and led by example. Did superbly well to dig out cross for Cirkin equaliser
7 Hume: Composed in unfamiliar back three. Along with fellow defenders, tremendous job to keep West Brom out in second half.
7 O’Nien: Held together makeshift defence. As committed as ever. Unlucky with penalty.
8 Cirkin: Conceded possession in build-up to first goal but made amends in stunning fashion with second half double.
8 Clarke: Tireless on the left. Supported Cirkin and defence and an outlet in attack. Went close in second half.
8 Neil: Helped Sunderland get a grip after difficult start and made the visitors tick.
6 Ekwah: Tidy on the ball but game passed him by at times.
7 Amad: A threat throughout. Looked a real danger in the second half on the counter
6 Ba: Brave early tackle in his own box. Full of running but not at his dangerous best.
7 Gelhardt: Fine performance carrying a knock and up against two imposing central defenders. Kept them on their toes with clever movement and touches.
