SEAN LONGSTAFF returns to Newcastle United's starting line-up for this afternoon's home game with Tottenham.
Longstaff has recovered from the bout of tonsilitis that restricted his involvement at Villa Park last weekend, and returns to the Magpies' starting side at St James' Park.
He replaces Anthony Gordon, who drops down to the bench, in the only change to the team that kicked off last weekend's 3-0 defeat in the Midlands.
Gordon's absence means Joelinton will return to a wide attacking role on the left-hand side.
Longstaff will play at the heart of the midfield trio, with Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock playing on either side of him.
Dan Burn retains his place at left-back, with Matt Targett only on the bench, while Alexander Isak once again gets the nod ahead of Callum Wilson in attack.
NEWCASTLE (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Willock; Murphy, Isak, Joelinton.
Subs: Dubravka, Lascelles, Gordon, Wilson, Ritchie, Targett, Manquillo, Almiron, Anderson.
TOTTENHAM (3-4-3): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Sarr; Porro, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
Subs: Forster, Sanchez, Richarlison, Danjuma, Tanganga, Davies, Lenglet, Devine, Mundle.
