NEIL Warnock said his team were motivated by the "insulting" pre-match odds from the bookies and described Huddersfield's win over Middlesbrough as one of the best of his managerial career.
The Terriers were 5-1 with the bookies to beat Boro - something Warnock said he put to good use in his pre-match team-talk.
Huddersfield were behind at the break after Marcus Forss's 10th goal of the season but stunned Boro with four goals in 21 second half minutes.
The Town boss said: “I was disappointed in the first half because our goalkeeper didn’t have a shot to save before the goal. So I was disappointed because I thought we could be a lot more positive.
"We were 5/1 with the bookies. What an insult that is! I’ve never been 5/1 at home in my life. It helped with my team talk that and I hope they lost some money today.
"That’s probably as good a result as I’ve ever had in my career. Given the opponents, they’re a good side, make no mistake. We’ll not have a tougher game than that this year. But I always do well against Middlesbrough, don’t I?"
Warnock told of what his message to his players was at half-time after Boro's opener late in the first period.
"I told them to get on the front foot and you can’t wish for a better start after 22 seconds," he said.
"I would think Michael will be annoyed because about three people could have brought him down. But he took it great.

"And then after that, I thought we created some good chances. You saw the belief after we scored that first. At half time, I thought there were two ways we could go: lie down and lose four like we did at Coventry, or we could stop crying and get on with it - win the tackles and headers, get some crosses in and I thought we did all that.
"That lifted the crowd and I said to the lads after, ‘I’m 74 now. In a few weeks when I’m off fishing, I’ll think back about today and how proud I was with how every one of them lads gave me everything they’ve got'.
"I don’t think one of them came off without giving me everything. And that’s why I’ve been in the game so long really. I love my teams doing that, especially against opponents doing that.”
