ALUN ARMSTRONG has signed a new two-year contract that commits him to Darlington until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Armstrong is currently in his fourth season with Quakers, having previously guided the club into the first-round proper of the FA Cup on two separate occasions and taken them into the last eight of the FA Trophy.
He is overseeing a promotion push during the current campaign, with yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Alfreton Town having left Darlington sitting in sixth position in the National League North table, with a seven-point cushion within the play-off positions.
Darlington chief operating officer, David Johnston, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Alun has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club for another two years.
“Considering that we are competing against full-time clubs in our division, he has done supremely well to take us to the top of the table and have us battling away for promotion.
“Our resources are much smaller than other clubs, but Alun and his staff have produced some exciting players and teams, which we hope he will continue doing. We have had some great memories under Alun, and we hope that there will be a lot more.”
