Here's how Newcastle's players rated in the 2-1 win over Southampton, as the Magpies booked a Wembley date in the Carabao Cup final.
8 Pope: Could do nothing about the goal. Had very little to do before or after, but made a huge save to deny Armstrong just after the 70-minute mark.
8 Trippier: A constant threat down the right in attack and used his experience to help see the game out in the second half.
8 Schar: Hugely impressive again alongside Botman. Limited Southampton to one good Armstrong chance other than goal.
8 Botman: Commanding and assured. Never panicked and helped ensure there was no nervy second half.
7 Burn: Got caught behind a couple of times but solid for the most part.
9 Longstaff: Newcastle’s hometown hero. His quickfire first half double sent the Magpies to Wembley. Could easily have had a hat-trick. Brilliant midfield performance.
7 Willock: Sloppy pass teed up Southampton for their goal but before that it was Willock’s powering run that started move for Longstaff’s second.
7 Guimaraes: Controlled and classy in the first half. His brilliant quick-feet set up the first goal that set the Magpies on their way. But can have no complaints at red card and must now serve three-match ban.
7 Almiron: Linked up well with Trippier on the right and had the beating of Walker-Peters before his premature exit.
7 Joelinton: Industrious performance, always on the want for the ball in the first half and helped dig in to see it out in the second.
7 Wilson: Worked hard, as usual, some classy touches but the ball just didn’t fall for him in the box
