KARL DARLOW is set to be part of Newcastle United’s squad for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Southampton, but the goalkeeper could still make a last-gasp move to Hull City before the transfer window closes at 11pm.
Darlow has agreed the terms of a loan deal that would see him move to Hull’s MKM Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.
However, with Martin Dubravka ineligible for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup game because he has already played for Manchester United in this season’s competition, Eddie Howe will not be allowing Darlow to leave ahead of the Southampton game.
Despite the presence of Loris Karius in the first-team squad, Darlow was on the bench for last week’s first-leg victory at St Mary’s.
Howe said: “The situation is that he will be involved with us tomorrow. Then we will see where we stand on things after that.
“Martin is cup-tied in this competition, then we have Lorius, who is continuing to train well. That’s the situation – we wanted Karl for this game, then we’ll make a decision after that.”
