EDDIE HOWE has dismissed suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo has a clause in his new contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr that would result in him joining the Magpies if they were to qualify for the Champions League.
A report in Spanish newspaper Marca this morning suggested that Ronaldo would be joining Newcastle on loan from Al-Nassr in the summer if they were to clinch a top-four place this season.
The Portugal international was officially unveiled as an Al-Nassr player earlier today, beginning his new life in Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi state-owned Public Investment Fund owning 80 per cent of Newcastle.
However, speaking ahead of tonight's game with Arsenal at the Emirates, Howe has dismissed any suggestion of an agreement involving Ronaldo.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We wish Cristiano all the best in his venture, but from our point of view, there's no truth in that."
