NEWCASTLE UNITED have recalled goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from his loan spell at Manchester United.
Dubravka moved to Old Trafford on a season-long loan in the summer following Nick Pope's move from Burnley to St James' Park.
However, Newcastle officials inserted a recall clause into the Slovakian's loan deal, and have opted to trigger it following the reopening of the transfer window this morning.
Dubravka has not made a single league appearance in the first half of the season, with his only two outings for Manchester United having come in the Carabao Cup.
His recall to Tyneside suggests that Loris Karius will not be getting a new deal once his initial short-term arrangement with Newcastle ends in January.
Karl Darlow was Newcastle's substitute goalkeeper on the bench during yesterday's goalless draw with Leeds United.
