SPENNYMOOR TOWN will host Darlington in the third round of the FA Trophy.
Today’s draw has paired the North-East rivals together, with their cup meeting due to be staged at Spennymoor’s Brewery Field ground on Saturday, December 17.
The sides have already met once this season, with August’s ill-tempered National League North game at the Brewery Field ending in a 1-1 draw. They are also due to lock horns in the reverse league fixture at Blackwell Meadows at the end of January.
Darlington booked their third-round place in the Trophy with an emphatic home win over Alfreton at the weekend, while Spennymoor edged out Runcorn Linnets 3-2 in round two.
Today’s third-round draw saw York City handed a home game against Blyth Spartans, while Gateshead will host Kettering Town.
Marske United, who are the lowest-ranked North-East team still left in the competition, were handed a home tie against Marine.
