Middlesbrough rolled over to defeat at the Den as their fledging season continued against Millwall.
Zian Flemming's brace in South London was enough to send Boro to fourth bottom in the table.

Boro XI
6 Steffen – Could do little about either goal with a big deflection on the first and no marking for the second.
6 Fry – Battled hard with Bradshaw and Afobe at the back and won the majority of his challenges.
6 McNair – Played out well at the back in the first half but was part of lapse defending for the second goal.
6 Lenihan – Strong and assertive at the back but was perhaps guilty of poor defending for the second goal.
5 Jones – The wing-back looks short of confidence in attack. Picked up his sixth yellow card of the season.
5 Howson – Looked slow in midfield and did not press Millwall when they had possession.
5 Crooks – Had a frustrating afternoon in midfield. Struggled to get Boro up the field and lost the aerial battle for the second goal.
5 McGree – Threatened Millwall’s goal with a bending shot on the edge of the box but struggled to get into the game.
6 Bola – Had a difficult job getting up and down the left but provided an outlet on the left.
7 Akpom – Had little service up front but provided an option and made runs where he could.
6 Muniz – Missed a guilt edged header at the back post which would have levelled the game on the stroke of half time.
Subs:
6 Hackney 51’ – Couldn’t get into the game enough when introduced in the second half.
6 Giles 51’ – Delivered some good late crosses but barely had possession of the ball.
6 Forss 65’ – Looked lively when he came on but could do little to break Millwall down.
6 Dijksteel 65’ – Kept Millwall out for the remainder of the game at the Den.
6 Hoppe 72’ – Threatened Long with a snap shot on the edge of the box and a header from a corner.
Subs not used: Roberts, Mowatt
Millwall XI: Long 7; McNamara 7, Cooper 7, Hutchinson 7, Wallace 7; Mitchell 6, Saville 8; Voglsammer 7(Bennett 83’), Burey 7 (Styles 57’), Flemming 8 (Honeyman 83’); Bradshaw 7 (Afobe 66’)
Subs not used: Bialkowski, Evans, Shackleton
Man of the Match: Zian Flemming – Scored both of Millwall’s goals and was a threat all afternoon finding good pockets of space.
