ENGLAND’S men’s and women’s teams will both play international T20 fixtures at Durham’s Seat Unique Riverside stadium next summer.
The men’s team, who are about to contest the T20 World Cup in Australia later this winter, will take on New Zealand in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday, August 30, with a 6pm start.
The women’s side will also head to the North-East to line up against Sri Lanka on Saturday, September 9, with the game starting at 2.30pm.
The last seven men’s internationals to be staged at the Riverside have all sold out, while this year’s women’s game between England and India boasted the second-highest attendance for a women’s international game in England this year.
Durham Cricket chief executive Tim Bostock said: “We are delighted to be bringing both men’s and women’s international sport back to the region.
“It was great to see another sell-out when the men played here earlier in the year, and the women’s game was extremely popular, attracting a more diverse audience whom we hope will continue to come to games at Seat Unique Riverside.
“The games obviously have a huge economic benefit to the town and the wider region, and bringing this level of international sport helps to inspire boys and girls across the North-East to get involved in cricket.”
Durham Cricket members will receive priority access to tickets for next year’s internationals and £5 off with their membership, with 2023 membership available to buy now.
Non-members who buy tickets for both games will receive £5 off their ticket for the women’s match.
Tickets will go on general sale from Tuesday, November 1, but there are a number of priority windows available and anyone interested can sign up to the ballot now.
Last year’s international sold out via the ballot and did not get to general sale, so anyone wishing to attend is strongly encouraged to sign up to the ballot.
