DARLINGTON will head to Hyde United in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Alun Armstrong’s side have been drawn away to lower-league opposition in the wake of their weekend victory over Southport.

Hyde currently sit in sixth position in the Northern Premier League table, which is currently topped by South Shields.

They saw off Warrington Town 1-0 to book their place in the third qualifying round, with their meeting with Darlington due to take place on the weekend of October 1-2.

There is an all-North East tie in the third qualifying round, with South Shields set to host Marske United.

Blyth Spartans will head to Liversedge if they see off Chorley in a second-qualifying round replay, while Ashington, who are the only Northern League side still left in the competition, have been handed an away game at Stocksbridge Park Steels.
