MIDDLESBROUGH have completed the signing of striker Marcus Forss from Brentford.

Forss, a Finland international, has made a permanent move to the Riverside, signing a four-year deal.

The 23-year-old was a member of the Brentford side that won promotion from the Championship in the 2020-21 season, scoring ten goals.

He struggled to hold down a place in the Bees' Premier League side in the first half of last season, and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Hull City.

He has won 14 senior caps with Finland, scoring two goals, and is expected to go straight into the Boro squad for Saturday's Championship season-opener with West Brom.

"We're delighted to bring Marcus in," said Boro boss Chris Wilder, who has been searching for new forwards all summer. "He played a big part in Brentford winning promotion a couple of seasons ago, and he knows this league well.

"He's a good athlete and all-round player. We're really looking forward to what he can bring to the squad."
