SUNDERLAND eased their way to victory against Dundee United in their latest pre-season friendly.

How did the players score in their performance at Tannadice Park?

SUNDERLAND XI

6 Patterson – A few shaky moments were outweighed by some good saves to deny efforts from range.

7 Hume – Got up and down the right hand side well and did well to latch onto the punch and head home.

6 Wright – An afternoon that wasn’t very eventful for Wright but did what he needed to do when called upon.

7 Ballard – A strong presence at the back and won almost every aerial challenge. Denied Watt with a goal line clearance.

6 Cirkin – Provided a threat going forward but got caught once or twice in the second half by substitute Cudjoe.

7 Evans – Marshalled things superbly well in midfield and eased the pressure away from Sunderland when it mattered.

8 Neil – A top technical performance from Neil who eased Sunderland through the gears and got forward at the right time.

7 Roberts – Only fault was decision making but was very lively down the right. Played a great through ball for Stewart.

7 Pritchard – A consummate display from the experienced midfielder who showed great awareness on the ball.

6 Dajaku – Provided some threat going forward but couldn’t make full use of the ball.

6 Stewart – A quiet afternoon by his standards and was denied well by Eriksson from a good chance.

Subs:

6 Alese 65’ – Kept things tidy at the back for Sunderland when he came on and provided balance with his left foot.

6 Diamond 65’ – Gave plenty of energy but not an awful lot of threat.
