NEWCASTLE UNITED take on German side 1860 Munich in a pre-season friendly this afternoon.

Here are all the details of the game - and how you can watch it

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

The venue for today's game is the Saalfelden Arena Burgerau, which is the home stadium of Austrian Regional League side FC Pinzgau Saalfelden.

The ground is around 50 miles from Salzburg, and is close to the training base that Newcastle have been using this week.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Today's game starts at 2.30pm local time, which is 1.30pm BST.

The match was originally due to have an evening kick-off, but it was brought forward. Conditions are expected to be mild, but there is the potential for a heavy rain shower during the game.

HOW CAN YOU WATCH THE GAME?

If you are based in the UK or Saudi Arabia, then Newcastle United have announced that live coverage of today's game will be available free of charge on Newcastle's official club website and their YouTube channel.

If you are in Austria, Germany or Switzerland, then a live feed will be available from this site.

In the United States, ESPN are providing coverage, while in Canda, the game is due to be screened on DAZN.

WHAT MIGHT NEWCASTLE'S SIDE BE?

Newcastle have travelled to Austria with the following 29-man squad, and given that pre-season is still at an early stage, there is a good chance that the majority of these players will be involved in today's game at some stage:

Darlow, Dubravka, Pope, Gillespie, Trippier, Targett, Dummett, Lewis, Lascelles, Burn, Botman, Schar, Krafth, Fernandez, Watts, Shelvey, S.Longstaff, M.Longstaff, Guimaraes, Fraser, Murphy, Joelinton, Almiron, Willock, Ritchie, Saint-Maximin, Wilson, Wood, Anderson.

Goalkeeper Nick Pope and defender Sven Botman are expected to make their first appearances following their summer moves, but there will be no Javier Manquillo, who is recovering from injury, or Dwight Gayle, who remained on Tyneside rather than travelling to Austria.

WHAT IS THE OPPOSITION LIKE?

1860 Munich are former German champions, and were beaten finalists in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1965. However, they currently play in the third tier of German football, 3. Liga.

They have met Newcastle in competitive action before, with the Magpies having claimed a 6-3 aggregate win over two legs in the Intertoto Cup in 2001.

The 1860 Munich players should be sharper than their opponents as this is their eighth and final pre-season fixture ahead of their opening league game against Dynamo Dresden next weekend.
