SUNDERLAND have agreed a deal to re-sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke on a permanent deal.

Clarke spent the second half of last season on loan with the Black Cats making 20 appearances and scoring one goal as they went on to seal promotion from League One.

Sunderland have been in talks with Spurs over a potential deal for a number of weeks with Alex Neil keen to bring the youngster back to the Stadium of Light. According to reports, the winger will sign a four-year contract after the two clubs came to an agreement.

Clarke is expected to link up with the squad at their pre-season training camp in Portugal and the deal could be announced later today.

Clarke signed for Spurs in the summer of 2019 from Leeds United for a reported fee of around £8.5 million but failed to break into the first-team. Loan spells with Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City soon followed before joining Sunderland in January earlier this year.

The winger is set to become the club’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of defender Daniel Ballard who made the switch from Premier League Arsenal.
