TWO goals from Graham Kavanagh and one from Sonny Finch saw off National League side York City with a 3-2 win at the LNER Community Stadium.

Like last week against Bishop Auckland, Wilder use a different eleven for each half. The first period saw Finch latch onto Coburn’s cross before finishing from close range.

Calum Kavanagh doubled their lead with a third bite of the cherry after seeing his shots initially blocked. The Minstermen pulled one back with a Manny Duku header.

Isaiah Jones was at the heart of the action for the third as he crossed low to the back post to find Kavangh to convert. York did pull one back in the closing stages as substitute Daniel Dodds bundled the ball over the line.

Boro now head to Portugal for a pre-season training camp where they will face Braga over the next seven days.
