MIDDLESBROUGH goalkeeper Max Metcalfe has been loaned out to National League North side Spennymoor Town to gain first-team experience.
The 19-year-old has made ten appearances for Boro’s Under-23’s but will link up with Moors for the new season. The length of the loan has not been disclosed.
Metcalfe, who is a Scotland international at youth level, recently signed professional terms with Boro this summer along with five other players from Boro’s academy.
He joins fellow goalkeepers Joe Lumley, Sol Brynn and Zach Hemming in completely loan moves away from the club.
Moors have been in need of a keeper for the new season following the return of Jordan Amissah to his parent club this summer.
