CHRIS WILDER is confident Dael Fry will be available for Middlesbrough’s final home game of the season against Stoke City this weekend.
Fry returned to training at the start of the week after recovering from a calf injury, and had been in the running to appear in last night’s game with Cardiff City.
However, while the centre-half could probably have played at a push, Wilder did not feel it was worth risking him with crucial games still to come against Stoke City and Preston.
He will train again in the next 48 hours though, with Wilder confident he will able to line up against Stoke on Saturday.
Matt Crooks will also be available to face the Potters, with last night’s game having brought his three-match suspension to an end.
Wilder said: “Dael didn’t make it. He didn’t quite make it for this (Cardiff) game, but I’d think he’ll definitely be available for the Stoke game. He just missed out.
“We looked at it and thought, ‘Is it worth it? But he should be available for the weekend, and with Crooksy coming back too, I’m delighted I’ve got a couple of little options that I need to sort out.”
