RUGBY LEAGUE fever hit Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium this morning, with just 200 days to go until the start of the Rugby League World Cup, which will be staged in England.
The Riverside is one of the tournament’s host venues, with Boro’s home set to stage a group-stage match between Tonga and the Cook Islands on October 30.
The World Cup trophies were on Teesside today as part of a two-day tour that will take them to all 18 host towns and venues, with Boro captain Jonny Howson and former England rugby league and union international Jason Robinson also on hand to help promote the tournament.
The pair went head-to-head in a keepie-uppie competition with a difference on the touchline at the Riverside – with Howson trying to juggle a rugby ball and Robinson trying to keep a football in the air for longer.
Watch to see who came out on top.
