PARALYMPIAN swimmer Lyndon Longhorne thsi morning broke his own British record in a 50-metre freestyle event.
He shaved more than a second off his previous personal best to win in a time of 44.14 seconds.
It was at the British Para Swimming Winter National Meet in Swansea this morning and beat his previous record of 45.26 seconds.
Lyndon, originally from Crook in County Durham, and now living in Blaydon, is part of Derwentside Amateur Swimming Club and competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics earlier this year.
After contracting meningitis when he was eight-and-a-half months old, septicaemia led to amputations of Lyndon's right leg above the knee, his left leg below the knee, his right hand and the fingertips on his left.

His late grandfather, Terry Wheeldon, introduced to him pool swimming at the age of one.
As a schoolboy he dreamt of representing his country and reaching the Paralympics and balanced training with his studies, at King James Academy in Bishop Auckland, and later Durham Sixth Form and Northumbria University.
