SPENNYMOOR Town’s board of directors have decided who they will appoint as their new manager with an announcement expected to be made today.
The National League North side have been conducting the search for a new boss this week after parting ways with Tommy Miller following a recent run of poor performances that saw them drop out of the play-offs.
Head of Football and former Moors boss Jason Ainsley took temporary charge of the side for yesterday’s 4-2 win over Chester.
Ainsley admitted that it would be his final one and only game in the dugout and that their managerial search had reached a swift conclusion.
He said: “The candidates that we’ve had apply just shows you the job that is here. It’s a fantastic job for a manager.
“I know I am biased because I have been here for a long time but the quality of the candidates that applied just shows you the type of job we’ve got here.
“It will be sooner rather than later. We’ve shortlisted and the Chairman has made a decision.
“Hopefully that decision will be announced tomorrow (Sunday).”
Moors currently sit 13th in the table following yesterday’s win and are now three points outside the play-offs.
