A RECORD-breaking snooker player sailed through the first round of the UK Championships.
Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh made five century breaks as he comprehensively outclassed seven-time former world champion Stephen Hendry 6-1.
Hendry is the most successful player in the modern era of the World Snooker Championship and holds the record for the most seasons as world number one.
But this didn’t faze Un-Nooh, nicknamed F1, who was on top form at the event in York and will now play Zhao Xintong in the last 64 on Sunday.
The 36-year-old trains at Q House Snooker Academy in Darlington and entered the history books earlier this year after scoring a stunning 155 break for only the second time in the history of the sport.
