SPENNYMOOR Town have looked to plug the gaps in their defence with the signing of Sunderland defender Kenton Richardson.
The full-back moves to the Brewery Field on a 28 day loan deal and goes straight into the squad for the National League North side's league game against Bradford Park Avenue.
The 22-year-old has featured three times for the Black Cats this season with all of his appearances coming in the Papa John's Trophy against Lincoln City, Manchester United Under-21's and Bradford City.
While Richardson has been short of game time at Sunderland, he's had Football League and National League experience with Hartlepool United where he made over 50 appearances before leaving the club in 2019.
Manager Tommy Miller said: “I know Kenton well from his time at Hartlepool so this is a good move for both parties.
“He is adaptable and can play in a number of positions which gives me good options moving forward.
“I would like to thank Sunderland for allowing the move to take place.”
