DARLINGTON and Spennymoor Town suffered defeats on the road last night in National League North.
The Quakers endured a miserable night against bottom of the league Southport who carved out their first win of the season.
Goals from Marcus Carver, Jordan Archer and Chris Doyle handed them a 3-0 win at the Pure Stadium.
Tommy Taylor saved a penalty to deny Southport a fourth goal late on but it did little to change the result on a very bad night for Darlington.
As for Spennymoor Town, they 2-0 away to current league leaders AFC Fylde.
A brace from Ben Tollitt inflicted the damage at Mill Farm as Moors go away from the game empty handed. The game was an early chance in the season to reduce the gap between themselves and the league leaders.
Moors remain in third place in the table and take on Kidderminster Harriers at the weekend while Darlington dropped to 15th as they host Guiseley on Saturday.
