DARLINGTON have lost the race to sign Hartlepool United defender Jake Lawlor who joins National League side Bromley on a one-month loan deal.
The 30-year-old defender is out of the matchday picture at Pools and was free to find first-team action elsewhere with Pools well stocked in their defensive areas.
The Quakers were very keen on bringing in Lawlor to strengthen up their rearguard but it's understood Lawlor was keen on staying in in full-time football.
Despite losing the race for Lawlor, Darlington did sign Rotherham United defender Jake Cooper on loan.
The deal to bring Lawlor to the Lilywhites only lasts a month which may well free up an opportunity for the Quakers to reignite their pursuit for the defender.
Lawlor has only made two appearances so far for Pools this season.
Upon his move to the National League side, he said: “I’m delighted to be here. I’m looking forward to getting going, helping the club progress and I can’t wait to meet all of the fans.”
