AIMEE WILLMOTT performed brilliantly in her 4x100m Individual Medley heat in Tokyo this lunchtime to qualify for tomorrow's Olympic final.
The 28-year-old Teessider, who is set to retire after competing in her third Olympic Games, was the second-fastest qualifier for the final.
Competing in the final heat, Willmott produced a season's best time of 4:35.28 as she finished in second position behind American Emma Weyant.
She finished ahead of race favourites Katinka Hosszu and Mireia Belmonte, which will give her huge confidence ahead of tomorrow's final.
This is Willmott's third Olympic Games, and tomorrow will be her second appearance in an Olympic final.
Tomorrow's final takes place at 3.12am British time.
