After hours of anticipation and excitement across the country, fans settle in for a night of pure drama between England and Italy for the Euro 2020 final.

Fans parks in Newcastle are being crammed with England fans dressed head to toe in white and red to cheer on the nation's heroes. Bar queues are round the block and the sun is still shining into the late evening.

Gareth Southgate has named his starting line-up for this evening's game at Wembley. The one change sees Kieran Trippier come into the side while Bukayo Saka drops to the bench. 

England are looking to make history against Italy at Wembley this evening with the chance to win their first major tournament in 55 years. 

The Three Lions have never won a European Championship and have only ever been as far as the semi finals in 1996. 

Gareth Southgate has the chance of bringing home silverware when he leads the team out at Wembley. 

The former Boro captain missed a penalty in the shooout 25 years ago against Germany. 

England have beaten Germany, Ukraine and Denmark in the knockout stages on their way to the final of the tournament while Italy have seen off Austria, Belgium and Spain. 

Roberto Mancini's Azzurri haven't lost a competitive match for nearly three years when they were beaten in the Nations League by a goal to nil against Portugal in September 2018.

Over 60,000 fans are expected to be in attendance for tonight's game at Wembley. 

Harry Kane has the chance to win the Golden Boot for the tournament. He's scored four goals to help England get to the final and sits behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrick Schick, who are both on five goals.
