Glen Durrant has been drawn against Callan Rydz in the first round of the World Matchplay in Blackpool.
Durrant has reached the semi finals in the last two years of the competition losing to Michael Smith in 2019 and Dimitri Van Den Bergh last year.
While the 50-year-old is still competing amongst the best dartsmen in the world, he is suffering with a loss in form after recently going on a 17 match losing streak.
Duzza also failed to retain his Premier League of Darts title after being knocked out of the league earlier this year.
The Middlesbrough dartsman is looking to reignite his performances on the oche and is currently ranked at number 12 in the world while his opponent Rydz is 54th.
The tournament is due to get underway on Saturday 17th July with Durrant due to play his first round tie on the evening in Blackpool.
