THE delayed final of this year’s Europa League, formerly the UEFA Cup, took place last night featuring Sevilla and Inter Milan.
Fourteen years ago, it was Middlesbrough who were Sevilla’s opponents in the final, held at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands, but it wasn’t to be for the Teessiders, who lost 4-0.
It was Middlesbrough’s second season of European competition and thousands of fans travelled to the Netherlands to cheer their team on. We found some great photos in our archive from the day. Perhaps you were among them enjoying the event? Perhaps you feature in some of the photos on this page, which were taken by Chris Booth.
