ALLAN SAINT-MAXIMIN is set to feature in Newcastle United's starting line-up for this evening's FA Cup fifth-round tie at West Brom.
Reports emerged this morning suggesting the Frenchman's future with the Magpies could be in doubt after he was left out of the starting side for Saturday's goalless draw against Burnley.
Speaking at his press conference yesterday doubt, Bruce described Saint-Maximin as a 'major injury doubt' and expressed concerns about the back and hamstring problems that had resulted in his appearance on the bench at the weekend.
The winger missed training on Sunday, but reported to Newcastle's Little Benton base yesterday saying his problems had improved and he felt he was able to be involved at the Hawthorns.
As a result, he has been pencilled into Steve Bruce's starting line-up for this evening's cup tie as Newcastle look to make the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 2006.
Saint-Maximin joined the Magpies from Nice last summer, and while his form has fluctuated over the last seven months, he scored the explosive extra-time winner at Oxford United that booked Newcastle's place in tonight's fifth-round tie.
